And now I'm going to tell you a wonderful Devotion Story. I discovered it in this little town Saint-Félix-Lauragais.
I've been there couple of times before, it was full of people, and then once we came there
with my Dadd.
It was autumn, it was cloudy and rainy - the weather I love the most
to be in the old medieval place like this one, and it was empty - a treasure
Some sketches about this little voyage -- where we were making our selfies as usual!
And so, about this Devotion! So, Saint-Félix-Lauragais is a hometown of one grand, but rather forgotten composer Déodat de Séverac, impressionist.
He wrote soulful and so beatiful music, kind of praising Occitanie and in patricular Languedoc, and made a music for the poems of Baudelaire and Verlaine.
Everyone knows Debussy and Ravel, but the very few know de Severac, and that's just SAD, since his music is so full and rich.
So, after Paris, he was buried in his motherland Saint-Félix-Lauragais.
We walked on this old old cimetry and found his grave
And then, BUNG!!
What I see!
God. Aldo Ciccolini. Aldo Ciccolini, one of the GREATES pianist on the planet! Here?
YES.
You know why? Because he LOVED the music of Déodat de Séverac. He played it a lot. He brought this music to people. To know and cherrish it.
And even if he might repose at, I don't know, at Père Lachaise, with Chopin and Oscar Wilde -- he decided to get peace HERE, in this little french village, together with Déodat de Séverac, his best-loved composer.
Just take a look - and listen "En Vacances - Petites Pieces Romantiques" of Déodat de Séverac, played by Aldo Ciccolini:
Wow, du bist so begabt !
